Adding an image to your web site is fairly easy if you have a little experience.  First you will need to create a folder to upload you images to (most people choose something like /img or /images).

If you are using an FTP client software to log onto your webhost server, usually there will be an option to create a new folder (wherever you would like to create it), and call it whatever you like (img is popular).  After the folder is created you can then upload one or more images to this folder and access them in your browser by going directly to that folder relative to the location of your home directory.

So if you uploaded the folder to the root directory of you site, you could access it by going to http://www.yoursite.com/img (or whatever the folder name was) and you can access an image directly by going to http://www.yoursite.com/img/someimage.jpg.
